12,400 SF | Completed June 2023
Station No. 6 is a new construction 12,400 SF fire station with site improvements and paving located in the TRACE neighborhood, a 417.6-acre master-planned, mixed-use community, in the SE portion of San Marcos. The project is part of the city’s bond initiative to reconstruct deteriorating fire stations and building more new stations to accommodate the growing population. The design-bid-build project is a 33 ft tall, 2-story facility. The first floor is approximately 12,000 SF of finished out space while the second-floor houses 3,000 SF of mechanical and electrical mezzanine. The fire station features a three-vehicle apparatus bay, emergency services dispatch area, training space, break rooms, sleeping quarters, commercial grade kitchen, dining area, and administrative space. Critical components to the design include vehicular access and circulation to create ease of access and departure for emergency vehicles while minimizing response time. Also included are off-site improvements of 950 linear feet of 12-inch domestic water line and 400 linear ft of 8-inch sanitary sewer line.
